A very healthy snack to make if you find yourself feeling quite a bit hungry. It is a recipe which i made during last 12 months navaratri. It was staying in my drafts folder for nearly a 12 months. Ingredients for Pattani Sundal Recipe (Green Peas Sundal Recipe)

  • Dried Green Peas / Pachai Pattani – 1 cup
  • Salt to taste
  • Water – 3 cups
  • Oil – 1 tsp
  • Mustard Seeds / Kaduku – 1 tsp
  • Urad dal / Ulundu paruppu – 1 tsp
  • Dry Red Chillies – 2 cut into small pieces
  • Curry leaves – a sprig
  • Fresh Coconut – ½ cup grated

 

How you can Make Pattani Sundal Recipe(Green Peas Sundal Recipe)

  1. Take dried peas in a bowl. Cover it would water and let it soak overnight.
  2. Next day, drain the water, add the peas to pressure cooker.
  3. Add fresh water and salt. Pressure cook it for 3 whistle. Simmer the cooker for 10 mins.
    Turn off the warmth and allow them to steam go all by itself.
  4. Open the cooker and drain the peas.
  5. Heat oil in a frying pan, add mustard, urad dal, dry red chilli, curry leaves and saute for a min.
  6. Add in peas and saute for two to three mins.
  7. Now add in coconut and toss well for a min.
  8. Add some salt if needed.
  9. Serve

Take dried peas

 

Soak them in water overnight
That is how they appear after soaking
drain them and add it to pressure cooker
add some salt
cover it with water
pressure cook
Heat a tsp of oil in a pan
add in seasoning ingredients
add in peas
saute for jiffy
add grated coconut
