This recipe is completely latest to me, i’ve never heard about it until a viewer asked for the recipe. When i looked for this recipe, i got here to know that this recipe is my favourite. Have tried it from haldirams namkeens range. Love them a lot. I really like their unique spice mix and the flavour of chat masala on this.
So yesterday i asked hubby to take me to supermarket. I searched for the ingredients list of their packet and took a note of it. I also found this cute little bucket of their utensil section. Got one and decided to take picture in them.
I made this today and it got here out pretty good. I really like so as to add plenty of nuts and raisins on this, which makes this more tasty. Hope you’ll love this and let me know the way it turned out for you.
Ingredients for Poha Chivda recipe
Poha / Aval / Flattened Rice – 3 cups
Cashew nuts – ¼ cup
Almonds / Badam – ¼ cup
Roasted Gram Dal / Pori Kadalai – ¼ cup
Peanuts – ¼ cup
Raisins / Kishmish – ¼ cup
Oil for Deep Frying
For Spice Mix:
Oil – 1 tbsp
Mustard Seeds / Kaduku – 1 tsp
Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam – 1 tsp
Curry Leaves a handful
Sesame Seeds – 2 tbsp
Asafoetida / Hing / Kaya podi – a pinch
Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder – 1 tsp
White Pepper Powder – 1 tsp
Cumin Powder – 1 tsp
Chat Masala Powder – 2 tsp
Salt to taste
Sugar – 1 tbsp
Tips on how to make Poha chivda recipe
Heat oil for deep frying. Drop poha in hot oil, fry for a min. Drain and put aside.
In the identical oil add cashews, peanuts, badam, roasted gram dal and fry till golden.
Drain and add it to the poha.
Now fry some raisin in the identical oil for 30 sec. Drain and add it over the poha. Set this aside.
Now drain off all of the oil and reserve 1 tblspn of oil.
Add in mustard, cumin, asafoetida and curry leaves, fry till the curry leaves turn crispy.
Now add in sesame seeds and roast for a min.
Add in all the opposite ingredients given within the spice mix list and saute for 10 sec.
Add within the fried things and blend well with the spices.
Fry this for couple of mins.
Turn off the warmth and let it cool down.
Store this in a air tight container for per week.

Take all of your ingredients
Heat oil in a kadai
Add in poha and fry them
They may turn crispy in a minute
Drain them in a bowl
Now add in roasted gram dal, cashews and almonds
add in peanuts
drain once they turn golden
add it over the poha mix
now add in raisins
fry them for few seconds and add it over poha mix
Now drain off remaining oil, keep only a tblspn of oil
add in mustard and cumin seeds
touch of asafoetida
add in some curry leaves
sprinkle some sesame seeds in
fry till golden
Add within the spice powders
some salt and sugar
In goes amount of chat masala
mix that for few sec
add in all of the fried things in
let every little thing get coated within the spice mix
