Beetroot & Radish Poriyal
This is easy mezhukkupuratti recipe. I shared this so you’ll be able to make this for onam as an alternative of normal poriyal.. I’ll soon share the entire list of onam recipes, so stay tuned for it.
Ingredients for Beetroot & Radish Poriyal
Beetroot – 1 peeled and chopped into small pieces
White Radish / Mullangi – 1 peeled and chopped into small pieces
Coconut Oil – 2 tbsp
Mustard Seeds / Kaduku – 1 tsp
Urad dal / Ulundu Paruppu – 1 tsp
Curry leaves – 1 sprig
Salt to taste
Chilli Powder – 2 tsp
Fresh Coconut – ½ cup grated
The way to make Beetroot & Radish Poriyal
Heat oil in a kadai. Add in mustard seeds and urad dal. Allow them to splatter. Add in curry leaves and blend well.
Add in chopped veggies and a few salt. Mix well till raw smell leaves away.
Cover and cook on a really low heat till the veggies are cooked.
Add in chilli powder and blend well.
Add in coconut and toss on high heat for couple of mins.
Serve.
