I even have made a Flaky paratha post previously,That paratha is made with maida. But this can be a flaky lacha paratha made with wheat flour.So it’s a healthy one.

This is actually easy to make, nevertheless it take a little bit of time. Often we will likely be having regular chapati, but this one will likely be a change for that. Wheat paratha or lachha paratha is certainly one of the favored recipe all over the world. It’s a healthy option for maida paratha or malabar paratha.

Dough is made with a mixture of wheat flour and plain flour or you should use only whole wheat flour. Addition of a bit plain flour makes the paratha much more sofgt. I even have included that version within the video of this post. But this version has only whole wheat flour. This one taste amazing with curries or any side dishes.

Ingredients for Wheat paratha

  • Whole Wheat flour / Atta – 3 cups + more for rolling and dusting
  • Oil – 2 tblspn + More for pan frying and rolling
  • Salt to taste
  • Warm water as required

The best way to Make Lachha Paratha

  1. In a mixing bowl add flour, salt, oil and rub them together.
  2. Progressively add warm water and blend it till it forms a dough..Knead the dough for 3 min. Apply oil on the dough and canopy it with a bowl.Let it rest for 15 min.
  3. Now divide the  dough into equal portions.Take a small ball and roll it into thin chapati. Apply oil on the chapati and spread it evenly.Dust some flour over the chapati and begin folding it like a saree fleet.(check image).
  4. Then Curl it to form a round shape.Apply a tsp of oil over the curled dough and let it rest until you make every dough like this.
  5. Now take a curled dough and make chapatis out of it.Finish the whole dough like this.
  6. Heat a tawa and put this chapati on to the tawa and cook on each side by applying ghee or oil till done and golden.
  7. Then remove it on to a plate and crush it together with your hands, in order that the flakes will separate.
  8. Put this right into a hot case in order that it stays nice and warm.Serve it with any side dish..

Serving suggestions

This goes well with  Aloo Chicken Curry , Kadai Chicken , Butter Paneer Masala , Pepper Mushroom , Vegetable Korma , Potatoes in Creamy Yoghurt Sauce

make the dough

 

 

Take a ball out of it
spread it thinly
drizzle some oil over it
spread it evenly
once you might have spread oil like this
sprinkle over some flour
similar to this
now make fleats
now time to roll
tuck the side in
now lets roll the paratha
place it on a hot tawa
flip and cook
drizzle some oil or ghee
spread it 
drizzle some more ghee or oil and cook
crush it together with your hands, since i’m holding
 camera on one hand, i could not picture properly
crushing make the layers to separate
