I actually have quite a number of fried rice recipe on this blog, each veg and non veg. But that is one recipe which i make very often, it shouldn’t be traditional fried rice, it’s a street food style recipe which i like a lot. I actually have a variation of this recipe on this blog right here. It is really easy to make.

Ingredients for Egg Fried Rice Recipe

Rice – You need to use cooked basmati rice or jasmine rice. Any Short grain or long grain rice may be used. Only essential thing is the rice needs to be a day old. Cooked, cooled rice makes one of the best fried rice.

Eggs – Add good quality, free range, organic eggs.

Aromatics – Ginger, Garlic, Green chillies & Onions are the one basic ingredients it’s essential make an ideal egg fried rice.

Vegetables – carrots, capsicum and beans may be added.

Sauces – I add only soy sauce in my egg fried rice. a splash of vinegar or chilli sauce may be added.

Seasonings – msg is utilized in restaurant style egg fried which may be replaced with stock powder or a splash of additional soy sauce. 

The right way to make Egg Fried Rice at Home

Cooking rice

Start by cooking Rice, Wash rice in a lot of water, soak it for 30 mins. Drain it and take it in pressure cooker, cover it with 1.5 cup of water and a few salt. Cover and pressure cook for 1 whistle. Turn off the warmth and let the steam go all by itself. Now open the cooker and invert the rice to a bowl or plate and fluff it up, let it cool completely.

Preparing Eggs

Take eggs in a bowl, season with some salt and beat well. Heat 1 tblspn of oil in a kadai or wok. Pour the egg mix in and scramble it. Once it’s scrambled, remove it to a plate.

Making Fried rice

Now Heat one other 1 tblspn of oil in a wok or big kadai. Add in ginger and garlic and saute for a min. Add in onions, capsicum and green chillies. Saute for couple of mins. Add in salt, sugar and blend well. Now add in soy sauce, vinegar and pepper powder. Mix well. Add in cooked rice and toss well. Fry for five mins or so.  Add in cooked eggs and spring onion. Toss once and Serve hot.

Variations of Egg Fried Rice

Though Egg fried rice could be very basic recipe. It will possibly be modified based on your taste.

Easy Egg Fried Rice

This version of Egg Fried rice could be very easy and basic. It’s made with stir frying garlic, spring onions, green chillies and eggs. Cooked rice is tossed in and finished with salt and pepper. Basic egg fried rice, perfect to satisfy hunger.

Vegetable Egg Fried Rice

This version is made with a lot of vegetables like carrot, beans, capsicum along with the unique recipe. The entire fried rice is cooked with butter as an alternative of oil for added flavour. Great dish to place in kids lunch box.

Brown Rice Egg Fried Rice

This version is of egg fried is more healthful and wealthy in fibre. It uses brown basmati rice which is cooked a day upfront as an alternative of normal white rice. The recipe stays the identical, uses ginger, garlic, spring onions, eggs, soy sauce, vinegar, salt and black pepper powder.

Heat some more oil in a kadai
