My first younger sister buys a packet of the perfect coconut milk at any time when she come to nagercoil from madurai. I might say it’s the perfect murukku on the earth, It is good and really tasty. I all the time desired to imitate the recipe, hence i made this coconut milk murukku. But it surely was not a hit, i could not get the taste of it. Ingredients for Moong Dal Murukku Recipe (Pasi Paruppu Thenkuzhal Recipe)

  • Rice Flour / Arisi Mavu – 2 cup
  • Roasted Moong Dal Flour / Pasi Paruppu Podi – ½ cup
  • Sesame Seeds – 1 tsp
  • Thick Coconut Milk – ¼ cup
  • Sugar Candy / Kalkandu – 4 tbsp powdered
  • Ghee – 1 tbsp
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for Deep frying + 3 tbsp

 

When i made this murukku and tasted it, it was very near that murukku with a stunning sweet taste and somewhat coconut milk flavour and aroma. Loved it. So give this a attempt to let me understand how it turned it..

The right way to Make Moong Dal Murukku Recipe (Pasi Paruppu Thenkuzhal Recipe)

  1. Take coconut milk and powdered sugar candy in a sauce pan. Warm it barely so the sugar melts. Remove it and let it get cool.
  2. Now take rice flour, moong dal flour, salt, sesame seeds and ghee in a bowl and rub together with your hands so the ghee is evenly distributed.
  3. Now make a well in the middle.
  4. Pour the coconut milk mix and water to form a soft dough.
  5. Heat oil for deep frying, when it’s hot, take 3 tbsp of hot oil and add it to the murukku. Mix well.
  6. Now fill the dough in your favorite murukku press and make thenkuzhal.
  7. Make many thenkuzhal and deep fry it in oil till the shh sound stops from the oil.
  8. Drain and permit to chill completely.
  9. Now store this in a air tight dappa and serve.

Moong Dal Murukku Recipe Step by Step

Take all of your ingredients
Take Sugar candy in a blender
Powder it finely

 

 

Start by taking some powdered sugar candy in  a sauce pan
Add in thick coconut milk
Warm it barely till the sugar is melted, remove it and put aside
Take rice flour in a bowl
add in roasted moong dal powder
add some salt
some sesame seeds
rub the ghee into the flour
make a well
pour in coconut milk and sugar mix
Add in water
knead it to a soft dough
add in some hot oil
knead it to a really soft dough
Take your murukku press
fill it with dough
time to make murukku
press it and swirl it
you’re going to get some nice thenkuzhal shape
dont over do it..
just few swirls is enough
i made many murukku like this..i made it quite small
now drop it in hot oil
fry till golden
