I really like making pies. My favourite is apple pie, I even have already shared a country apple pie and that i desired to share a updated version of it..Hence i made this one.. The addition of orange juice and zest goes well with the apples. And never miss so as to add cinnamon and a pinch of nutmeg, it really makes the dish. Methods to Make Apple Pie

  • Preheat the oven to 180°C(350°F).
  • Butter a pie plate generously and set it aside.
  • Make the filling by mixing sliced apple,raisins,sugar,cinnamon,salt,cornflour and blend well.
  • Remove the prepared dough out of fridge and cut into two equal portions.
  • Take considered one of the dough and roll in between two sheets of plastic wrap.Line the pie plate with the sheet.

  • Heat butter in a pan.
  • Add peeled sliced apples together with sugar, raisins, orange zest and orange juice.
  • Once apple is cooked add some cornflour slurry and blend well till it thickens.
  • Add cinnamon powder and any flavouring as you want.
  • Do not forget so as to add a pinch of salt.
  • Cool this down and use this as filling.

Apple Pie Preparation Step by Step Pictures

 

butter your pie dish
cut it in half
Spread a sheet of plastic wrap
place half of the pastry 
cover with one other sheet of plastic
roll it out
roll pretty thinly
check whether the pastry is larger than the dish
peel off the wrap
take it rigorously 
flip it over the pie dish
press it rigorously
line the pie dish evenly
peel off the plastic sheet

Take some crunchy and juicy apples
Cut it in half
Quarter them and deseed them
Slice them thinly
Take it in a bowl
Add in some orange juice
Add in orange zest
Now add in some raisins
Add a pinch of nutmeg

 

Spoon this over the pie
roll the opposite sheet
Cover with other rolled pastry
Pinch off the perimeters
Use a fork to seal the perimeters
Now it is finished
Make few slashes on top
Brush top with some milk or egg wash
Sprinkle some sugar on top and bake
Baked till golden and bubbly..
Slice and serve
